BELIEFS

  • The Trinity

Our God is one but manifested in three persons – the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal. These three (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) although separate in existence are one: in unity, in purpose, in operation, and are both co-equal and co-eternal.

    (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 14: 16, 17, Luke 3:22, 1 John 5:7, Genesis 1:26)

  • God The Father, The One True God

There is one and only one, true and living God who has revealed Himself to man as God the Father, the eternally self-existence “I Am.” He has revealed Himself as the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and all that is; and the Redeemer of all mankind.

    (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43: 10, 11, Genesis 1: 1)

  • God The Son, Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a pure life, without sin. He was mocked, beaten, scourged, spat upon, crowned with thorns, and crucified; not for any sin or wrong He had done, but for the sin of the world – you and I. He died, was buried and rose from the dead on the Third Day. He then ascended into Heaven where He is now seated at the Right Hand of God the Father. He was and is 100% God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ.

    (John 3:17, Luke 1, John 1:1-4, Ephesians 1:20, 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 8:6)

  • God The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is not merely an influence, spirit or thing but that HE IS A PERSON. He is one with the Father and the Son, in essence, yet separate and distinct in personhood. He is our Divine Comforter, Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby, Guide and Teacher.

    (John 14: 16-17, 26, John 16:7, 13-15, Acts 5:3-4, 1 John 5:7, Ephesians 2:22, 1 John 2:27)

  • Water Baptism

Baptism in water, by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The Ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

    (Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4, Acts 8:35-39, Colossians 2:12, Hebrews 10:22)

  • The Lord’s Supper/Holy Communion

The Lord’s Supper is a memorial, a remembrance of the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not only a witness of his death, burial, and resurrection, but it also speaks in detail of the two-fold work of the cross i.e the shed blood and the broken body.

We believe there are healing, miracle, wisdom, wonders and all a man will ever need in the Lord’s Supper.

    (Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • Divine Healing/Laying of Hands/Anointing The Sick

We believe sickness is a direct consequence of the fall of man and his continuance in sin. Redemption not only dealt with sin but also its consequences, which includes sicknesses and diseases. We believe that since Christ died and resurrected, He not only bore our sins, but already bore our sicknesses, pains and diseases and as such, we should live a life free of sicknesses.

We also believe that if anyone is sick, prayers can make the person whole again through faith, anointing oil and laying of hands on the person in the name of Jesus by elders (ministers) in the church.

    (Isaiah 53:5; Luke 13:11,16; James 5:14-16; 2 Corinthians 1:19-20; 1 John 3:8; Mark 16:17-18)

  • The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, the family of God, the habitation of God on the earth through His Spirit. The Church is made up of all those who have been born-again of the Spirit of God.

    (Luke 4:16, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:21-22, Ephesians 3:14-15, Hebrews 10:25)

  • Eternity

Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. At Lofty Heights Christian Centre, we believe Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

    (John 3:1636Romans 6:231 John 2:255:11-13Revelation 20:15)
