In the beginning of the last year, 2023, we decided to take a bold step of faith as a family. My wife and I had agreed for me to take on a career transition. The goal was to get a job that would give me time with my family and God. My previous job did not give me that.
As at that time, I was not clear on the career path to pursue, we kept trusting God. We had a word from God that it was indeed time for a career change per Deuteronomy 2:3 which says “3 ‘You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward.”
Time passed and even when we were unsure of what next to do, we stayed the course. God gave us clarity through a fully funded scholarship in Cybersecurity and that was my journey into the world of information technology even as I had no prior experience.
At some point it became difficult, but we continued praying and using God’s word.
As a result of this venture, I had to stop work to fully dedicate my time to transitioning. For close to 10 months, I had no income, I just gave myself to studies.
God sustained us through all these times. That period was tough for me personally and also for my family. If we do not mention it to people, you would hardly know that just one person was working in our home for that long period of time.
After close to one year on this journey, The Lord gave me my offer letter this month of May.
I want to appreciate my wife for her unwavering support during this period and for also being my biggest cheer leader. Thank you for believing in me through this journey. Your patience, support and push kept me going. You stepped up and carried the weight of our home with poise and glamour, thank you!!
